INTERVIEWS Anthony Vanden Borre did not find a team before the end of the transfer deadline. There might come a solution from Russia or Israël but the defender will get the chance to prove himself at Anderlecht as well.

Herman Van Holsbeeck had a word with Vanden Borre's manager this afternoon. "I read in the newspaper how many big teams were interested in Vanden Borre, but unfortunately we did not receive a single offer for him", says Van Holsbeeck. "I really mean it when I say "unfortunately". It would have been the best solution for everyone. I think Anthony is depressed now he did not find a team. They made him promises that could not be true. He still has a chance, the transfer window in Israel runs until Thursday, in Russia even until 28 February. Maybe there will be an opportunity coming his way."

"We will see how we have to move on with him. In my opinion, the only option for him is to join the U21 tomorrow and to work hard and prove us he still deserves to play for Anderlecht. I really want him to impress us at the U21 team."

That will not be easy, as he has a serous physical backlog. "He hasn't been training for months. It's up to Anthony now. We will pay very close attention to his performance at the U21 now. If he is able to convince us, we can consider a return. But that sure won't be for the first weeks", Van Holsbeeck claims.
