OTHER Anthony Vanden Borre has been training at Neerpede since Monday and seems to be in good physical condition. He should be playing his first match for the U21 in two weeks. Vanden Borre seems to be realistic and has given up on his dream to go to the European Championship.

Jean-François Lenvain, who is working on the social department of Anderlecht, is currently taking care of Vanden Borre and is bringing him to the training every day. Vanden Borre has not trained since the month of December. He then had an eye surgery. Since that day, he has been working with a personal physical coach.

The right defender now joined the U21 and Nicolas Frutos will personally take care of him with individual training sessions. He should be ready to play his first match against the Genk U21 on 29 February.

No European Championship

Vanden Borre's plan, and especially his manager's plan, was to find a new team where he could show himself to be called up for next summer's European Championship. That did not work out as planned and Vanden Borre gave up on the European championship and is about to break up with his manager.

Vanden Borre agreed with the training programme that was created by Anderlecht. The board does not plan to bring him back to the first team. They would like to transfer him next summer.
