GAMES Anderlecht suffered a disappointing loss against Waasland-Beveren last weekend. Despite the fact that the Mauves played against ten Waasland players for fifty minutes they failed to score a goal and in the end Waasland-Beveren even managed to obtain the victory.

The defeat of AA Ghent this weekend was the perfect opportunity for Anderlecht to get back in the title race. However, Waasland started as the best team and Anderlecht had difficulties to put pressure. Good news for Anderlecht after half an hour, as Maric received a red card after a rough tackle. This did not help the Mauves at all, they still played uninspired and failed to score.

Short before the whistle, also Dennis Praet received a red card and this was the signal for Waasland-Beveren to push through: Vanzo scored the 1-0 with a header, a surprising and shameful loss for Anderlecht.
