Van Binst confesses one-time dope usage

OTHER Gilles Van Binst, who played at Anderlecht between 1968 and 1980, confessed in a tv documentary of Flemish channel Canvas he used dope once in his career. He received it from a two-times world champion cycling.

"I felt sick and I received the product from a two-times world champion cycling. It happened right before a European match against Porto. However, the match was cancelled and I danced until the evening to get the effect of the dope away. It happened just once."

This cyclist is said to be Belgian Freddy Maertens.
