Perfect hold-up for Anderlecht in Waasland-Beveren

GAMES Anderlecht took the three points yesterday in Waasland-Beveren, but the Mauves can thank goalkeeper Boeckx for several excellent saves, especially at the end of the match. Anderlecht player Thelin, on loan in Waasland Beveren, brought the home team ahead. Stanciu and Spajic turned the tided with two goals after a corner kick.

Anderlecht started with Sowah, Harbaoui and Stanciu in the team. Kums and Onyekuru started on the bench. Apparently, coach Frutos wanted to save a few players for the clash against Celtic. The offensive problems weren't resolved though. After 75 minutes, Anderlecht received a corner kick that wasn't one. In that same phase, Stanciu collected the ball and placed it on the left corner: 1-1. On another corner kick, Spajic even headed the 1-2 against the net. In the last minutes, Boeckx had to perform three world class stops to prevent the equaliser. Meanwhile, Onyekuru had missed an open chance to score 1-3.
