Teodorczyk revives and lets Anderlecht celebrate

GAMES Lukasz Teodorczyk is back. After his hattrick last weekend, the Pool scored twice against Zulte Waregem. He seemed to have given Anderlecht a simple victory, but in the final phase it became just as thrilling as last week.


Anderlecht had a dream start at the Gaverbeek. After only two minutes Morioka headed a metered cross from Appiah past Bossut. The tenth goal for the Japanese this season. His third for Anderlecht and his first in an away game. Ten minutes later Teodorczyk doubled the score. After a pass from Gerkens he did not hesitate and he shot the 0-2 on the board.

Zulte Waregem coach Dury reacted with a substitution, but Anderlecht had the game under control. Shortly before the half hour Baudry brought Zulte Waregem back into the game. The defender was hardly defended on and headed a corner in the goal: 1-2. Anderlecht reacted immediately and Teodorczyk again scored. After a ball from Saief, he surrounded Zulte Waregem keeper Bossut and scored his fifth goal in one week: 1-3. This was also the score at halftime.

After the break Anderlecht limited themselves to control the game. The pace on both sides went down and there was hardly any danger. Five minutes before time, the ball did not get out of the penalty area and substitute Saponjic kicked the 2-3 against the ropes. The home team was eagerly looking for the equalizer and in injury time it was almost as far. Olayinka was just not alert enough on a dangerous cross. So it stayed 2-3 and Anderlecht booked its second victory in a row.
