In the Italian press, the rumour goes around that Inter would like to sign Vincent Kompany in January. He would have to replace Cannavaro then.

"He is not for sale", says Anderlecht manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. "And surely not for Inter Milan. They fooled us with a possible collaboration, and with the transfer of Eliakwu. I don't want to negotiate with them anymore."

"I won't go to Inter in January", confirmed Kompany, who was a fan of AC Milan when he was a child. "I would cost 20 million euros, but that's only to frighten interested teams."
