The reactions after the match were very clear. Everyone agreed on the fact that Inter Milan played better than Anderlecht. But the players thought wasn't much stronger, but more efficiently.

Broos: "Inter Milan played much stronger than we did. We can only win against such teams if we all play at our best level, from number 1 till number 11."
"With a young defence like this, you know we are taking risks. But I give them the chance to play. I can't blame them. And don't forget we miss lots of players: Tihinen and Zewlakow are out, and Glen De Boeck is fit, but this is a much higher level than with the reserve team."

Vincent Kompany: "They've won with 1-3, so they were the better team. But I think we didn't play much weaker than they did. But it's only ashame we can't do what they did: score. It would have been another match then. I think we were equal to Inter, collectively and even individually. But if you look at the result, you don't have to search for an excuse. I don't want to talk about myself."

Tristan Peersman: "Inter is a world team, that's obvious. They were very efficient, because they didn't get many chances. The second goal? There's an agreement that nobody stands at the second post. You can't blame the defence. We've lost with eleven players."
