"It is his own fault that Markovic is not here"

INTERVIEWS The transfer of Lazar Markovic did not take place during the last hours of the summer mercato. The Serbian wage demands would have been too high. Hein Vanhaezebrouck confirmed that today and let it be known that both Marc Coucke and Luc Devroe had gone a long way to bring in Markovic.


Many supporters were glued to their screen last Friday night until midnight, waiting for the news that Markovic was an Anderlecht player. But it did not come that far and the Serbian only owes it to himself, says coach Vanhaezebrouck.

"It is no secret that we would like to get him, he was the kind of creative player we were still looking for, we really did everything we could to get him and he did not really have much choice either." Coucke and Devroe were on certain moment willing to do crazy things to get him in.
