INTERVIEWS Tomorrow, Bubacarr Sanneh will be in the starting eleven for the first time for Anderlecht. The 23-year-old Gambian is confident that he will succeed at Anderlecht. "In Gambia everyone knows me as 'timber', this means tree and points to my intransigence, in Denmark my nickname was 'the rock' because of my physical strength."

If you see Sanneh, you can not deny that he is one block of granite. But do not worry, he can also play football. "At Midjylland the build-up starts with the defenders, and those who could not play well did not participate", Sanneh tells us today in the newspapers. "Hein Vanhaezebrouck personally called me to tell me that I was perfectly in his system, and in Denmark we usually played with three in the defense."

Anderlecht had to go deep to get Sanneh. Midjylland did not let him go, and that frustrated Sanneh. "When they attracted me in January, they made the promise that I could improve if the opportunity presented itself. But suddenly I had become too important and I had to put pressure on them to let me go."

Not only Sanneh, but Anderlecht also made a considerable effort. It paid eight million euros. "But that transfer fee does not scare me," according to the Gambian. "I hope to be able to follow my friend Omar Colley (ex-Genk) and to play in a top competition, my dream clubs are Real Madrid and Manchester United, but step by step."

That Sanneh wanted to go to Anderlecht so badly, also had a financial reason. He is honest about that. "My father died when I was 10. I have six brothers and one sister and my mother worked hard for us, now I play football for her and my family. And since I became a professional at the age of fifteen, I have only one goal: to send a nice sum of money to the family every month. The best gift I gave my mother was a pilgrimage to Mecca, and next year I will organize one to commemorate my father, which is why I absolutely wanted to sign that contract with Anderlecht. "
