Obradovic declined starting place with Serbia

OTHER Would he be a bit disappointed now, Ivan Obradovic? The Serb thanked for the national team last week to focus entirely on Anderlecht. Filip Mladenovic, who was called up in Obradovic's place, played the entire game against Portugal yesterday.


Serbian national coach Krstajic wanted to add Obradovic to his selection last week to deal with some injuries. Obradovic, whose last international game dates from 2016, however, chose to stay with Anderlecht and prepare for the play-offs.

Krstajic then called ex-Standard player Mladenovic. He stood yesterday for the full ninety minutes between the lines in the European Championship qualifier against Portugal. The game ended in 1-1.
