INTERVIEWS Aristote Nkaka will be Anderlecht's first summer transfer. But only a few people would like to see the Ostend midfielder coming. "Sgining at Anderlecht was a childhood dream. But if they don't want me, they should tell me honestly," says Nkaka.

"I was three matches at Ostend when Luc Devroe invited me and talked about Anderlecht. As a young boy that was my favorite club. As a 10-year-old, I once went on the field with Aruna Dindane. Since then he has been a kind of Messi to me. If you can go to Anderlecht, you don't say no, "Nkaka tells his story in Het Nieuwsblad.

"Anderlecht paid one million euros for me"

The contract between Anderlecht and Nkaka was already signed last summer, but the Purple & White decided to let the midfielder mature for another year at Ostend. "I thought that was a good idea. So my first year of my five-year contract is already over. Anderlecht paid one million euros. They thought I was worth the price."

This season, however, became an annus horribilis for Nkaka. He often sat on the bench and failed to take steps forward. "I didn't hear from Anderlecht this season, but I assume that their scouts will have reports of me. I understand that Michael Verschueren now has other concerns."

"Want to compete with Kums and co"

"I already feel like an Anderlecht player. I am not a Biglia, but I want to get a fair chance. If Anderlecht don't want me, they will say it. Perhaps it will also depend on the new trainer. I saw all their matches on TV, some also live. I think I can compete with Kums, Makarenko and Kayembe. "
