Chipciu uncertain about his future

TRANSFERS Alexandru Chipciu will no longer play for Sparta Prague next season. The Czech club officially announced that the purchase option will not be used. The Romanian therefore returns to Anderlecht. But does Vincent Kompany count on him? In the Romanian press, Chipciu says he hasn't talked to Anderlecht yet.


Sparta Prague rented Chipciu last season from Anderlecht with option to purchase. For a long time, Chipciu was the basic player, but at the end of February he lost his place. "We thank Alex for what he has given us, but have decided to take a different path in the future," says Tomas Rosicky, the sports director of Sparta Prague. "I want to thank him for his professional approach. He has always been a good example for our young players. I wish him every success in the future."

Chipciu is therefore returning to Anderlecht, where he is under contract for another year. But does he still have a future in the Astridpark? "So far I have not spoken with anyone from Anderlecht", Chipciu says to Romanian Sport. "My agent already spoke with the sports director of Anderlecht. He said that I have a high salary and that the club wants to let go players with a high salary. Another agent, who arranged my loan to Sparta Prague, told me again that the new chairman is very enthusiastic about me, wants me to stay and even to extend my contract. I am currently living in uncertainty about my future. Now I am only thinking of the national team. "
