"Yari is the future of Belgian football"

INTERVIEWS Yari Verschaeren was allowed to join the national championships in Italy at the age of 17. The young Devils did not manage to advance to the next round, but that did not prevent Verschaeren from impressing coach Johan Walem, who immediately indicated that he would count on Verschaeren for the further matches of the national U21.


"Yari is the future of Belgian football for me. He was not among the qualifiers and only came during the preparation and yet he showed himself. He is at least two years ahead of his peers. He knows what he is capable of but he also has a lot to learn. Just like boys like Sebastiaan Bornauw and Alexis Saelemaekers, I hope to be able to count on Yari during the next European qualifications, "said Walem.
