"Sandler joins Anderlecht on Monday"

TRANSFERS It is early July, the transfer market is officially open and Anderlecht seems to be cruising. After Michel Vlap and Samir Nasri, the next acquisition would be there on Monday. According to FOX Sports, Philippe Sandler will soon be signing a loan with Anderlecht.


Anderlecht will rent Sandler for one season from Manchester City and on Monday he will join Purple & White, the Dutch website reports. The defender would like to come to Belgium to be reunited with Vincent Kompany.

Manchester City paid 2.5 million euros to PEC Zwolle last summer to take over the now 22-year-old central defender. At the Citizens he only played 23 minutes in the FA Cup and one full match in the League Cup. In the Premier League he got on the match sheet once: on 27 February against West Ham.

Sandler is a right-footed central defender and Anderlecht already have a lot of those: Vincent Kompany, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Kara Mbodj, Bubacarr Sanneh, Abdul Dante and Josué Sa. The arrival of Sandler would mean that many of them are on the transfer list.
