INTERVIEWS Kevin De Bruyne stands up for Vincent Kompany. Both know each other from Manchester City and the Red Devils. De Bruyne, too, is of the opinion that the points will follow once Kompany has a real striker in his selection.

While most analysts indulge in breaking down Kompany, the defender receives support from an unexpected corner. Kevin De Bruyne takes on for his teammate with the Red Devils and until a few months ago also with Manchester City in the Manchester Evening News.

"I think there are a lot of people who want to see Vincent fail, but what did they expect? He has only been working for two months. It's hard to expect that he will get 15 out of 15 right away, that's not how it works in football. But according to some, he cannot be a player or a trainer. Fortunately, I know Vincent enough to know that he doesn't care about that commentary, "says De Bruyne.

"Even at Manchester City we have suffered from growing pains in the early stages", the Red Devil continues, "I have seen some games and Anderlecht play really well. Only they miss a good striker. And remember, they come from far "Kompany started with a selection of around 50 players, meanwhile it has already been halved by players who left, but another ten have been added. Quite a job and almost impossible to get started that way."

"On top of all this, Vincent wants to implement a different philosophy, that doesn't make it any easier. I've already spoken to him a few times and he's enjoying his new role. But football is simply a business in which you have to grab points. It would be nice if he gets the time and I think he will get it too. In Belgium only one team relegates, so I don't think he should worry about that. "
