Roofe: "This feels like a defeat"

INTERVIEWS With two goals in three minutes, Kemar Roofe seemed to become the match winner against Ghent. Unfortunately, Anderlecht still gave away the victory. "It's nice to score, but that only applies if we win," he sighed afterwards.


"Because of the late goal of Ghent, this draw feels like a defeat," Roofe said. "We played so well. Then only one point won, that is very disappointing. We worked hard, scored three times and did almost everything well."

"In the end it went wrong. It started with that penalty. In injury time the equalizer followed. I think something went wrong for one second in terms of communication and concentration. We pay that in cash."

Roofe points out that Anderlecht played with a very young team. "I am 26 years old and the oldest player on the field with us. Still we played as experienced players. I like that the fans started calling out 'the Roofe is on fire'. But unfortunately my goals did not yield much. Here I lie awake for a moment. "
