TRANSFERS The upward trend in Jeremy Doku's performance has not gone unnoticed. Het Nieuwsblad knows that the 17-year-old winger has aroused interest from several foreign clubs. But Anderlecht does not have to panic: according to the newspaper, Doku prefers to stay in the Astrid Park for at least another year.

Since the arrival of Frank Vercauteren, Doku has added an extra dimension to his game. Where his speed and dribbles often led to nothing before, 17-year-old Doku has shown great efficiency in recent weeks. In his last two games, he scored two goals and gave two assists. His crosses also arrive much more often than before.

Two years ago, Liverpool already made attempts to get Doku, but the boy from Antwerp with Ghanaian roots chose to stay with Anderlecht. He would do that now as well, according to Het Nieuwsblad. According to the newspaper, Doku wants to mature at Anderlecht for at least another year.

Doku recently extended his contract to 2022. Longer was not possible because he is not yet 18 years old. When Doku celebrates his 18th birthday on May 27, he can sign a long-term contract. The transfer market estimates his market value at six million euros, but that estimate dates from December 13. Doku's past weeks will undoubtedly cause this amount to rise soon.
