"COVID-19 makes the challenge even bigger"

INTERVIEWS Karel Eetvelt officially took over his job as CEO at RSC Anderlecht a month ago. Due to corona crisis, he immediately faces many challenges ha had not anticipated, but Van Eetvelt is not afraid of that: "It makes the challenge even greater".

"When I was negotiating with Marc Coucke in January to come to Anderlecht, the COVID-19 was still a long way off, so I did'nt see it coming, Van Eetvelt says, "it makes the challenge much bigger, more interesting. It also offers opportunities to approach things at different way. In a way, that's insteresting to me, too."

But no matter how big the challenge is, the entire healt crisis also poses difficulties. "Of course, to new members are concerned that it is more difficult to reach an agreement. It is a very uncertain time for us and for them. I have no idea when we will be able to play soccer again, much less with audience, there also commercial activities contact is needed. These are all things we don't know  when it will able to back."

Impact

"We will only see how this will have an imptact after this season," the CEO continues, "and unfortunately that impact will last for a while. Mainly today we have to help our business partners with advice and assistance, they have many questions; together we will seee how will be the future. That immediately prepares us to look for alternatives. The better we are prepared, the better we will overcome this crisis."
