INTERVIEWS Albert Sambi Lokonga lost his starting place to Adrien Trebel after the match against KV Mechelen. However, his entourage is not worried and knows that this is part of football. Brother Paul-José Mpoku remains positive about his little brother's current role as a substitute.
"It's just part of football and this doesn't have to be a disadvantage for Sambi," says Mpoku, "He will come out stronger. In football you have to go through some moments to understand them and this is one of them."
Sambi Lokonga lost his starting place to Adrien Trebel, although his entourage believes that he can play perfectly with the Frenchman. "Trebel has been doing a fantastic job since joining the team, so he deserves to play. He also guides the young guys, so I think he can play perfectly with my brother. I also think that there are other midfielders who could go aside then my brother. "
Hard work
The two brothers keep in touch and Mpoku assists Sambi Lokonga with good advice. "We hear each other all the time, so I told him to keep working hard in training. Stay hungry and show that he's the best. Then they can't ignore him."
Adrien Trebel was in the starting line-up against STVV and Mouscron, he did well and gave Vincent Kompany no reason to put him out of the starting eleven. Only there was that tackle against Mouscron that deserved a red card. We will have to see whether the coach will punish the Frenchman for that and if Sambi Lokonga will be in the starting line-up again on Friday against Ostend.
