"I couldn't offer Vlap any guarantees"

INTERVIEWS Vincent Kompany gave a word of explanation yesterday about thedeparture of Michel Vlap. The Dutchman took his medical tests yesterday and will play on a rental basis at Arminia Bielefeld in Germany until the end of the season. No purchase option is provided.


Last Friday, Vlap had a conversation with Kompany about his future at RSC Anderlecht. That conversation only lasted a few minutes and then it was clear that there was not really a lot of playing time foreseen for the Dutchman. After that, the decision was made fairly quick to play in the Bundesliga.

"Michel absolutely wants to play and I cannot guarantee that", Kompany told Eleven Sports yesterday.
