Anderlecht to lose points again (against KV Mechelen)

GAMES Anderlecht, again, missed an opportunity to take the fourth place in the ranking. The Mauves didn't come further than a 1-1 draw against KV Mechelen. Despite taking the lead through Nmecha on penalty, the visitors managed to equalise in the second half, also on penalty.

Just like in the last few matches, Anderlecht started again with two strikers. The first danger of the match was for the home side: Diaby rushed towards goalkeeper Thoelen who saved. Nmecha missed the rebound. That same Nmecha also had an opportunity not much later, but he missed his shot. KV Mechelen's only chance came through Shved, but his effort went wide. Just before half time, German striker Nmecha was tripped in the box by Bijker: penalty and 1-0 through that same Nmecha.

Anderlecht's offensive power also came from Nmecha in the second half. He had the first real opportunity of the second half, but his effort missed the target. KV Mechelen couldn't really create a chance, but when Shved - who was maneuvered into a position where he could not create any danger - was brought down by Murillo, the referee D'Hondt put the ball on the penalty spot: 1-1 thanks to De Camargo. 

Anderlecht couldn't really react anymore, despite having 20 more minutes to play. Miazga had the only decent chance short before the end, but his header was stopped by Mechelen defenders just before the line. Final score: 1-1.
