No Kukharevych and Mbokani due to bad data

TRANSFERS Anderlecht declined the transfer of Mykola Kukharevych in January because his physical tests were not good. Peter Verbeke makes this clear in his interview with De Morgen. Dieumerci Mbokani will also not come because his figures do not match Anderlecht.


Before Verbeke signs a player, he makes him take a battery of tests. In the interview he cites the example of an "18-year-old foreigner who was already at the club and thought he could sign a contract here". The good listener knows that it is about Kukharevych. Kukharevych scored insufficient with regard to maximum oxygen uptake. "With a VO2 max of 42 you are nothing in today's football, no matter how well you can play", says Verbeke. "He could also go to top French clubs, but if he is tested there, they will conclude the same."

Mbokani

Anderlecht also picked up the data of Dieumerci Mbokani, but it stops there. "Mbokani runs very little. His physical data is more difficult to reconcile with our benchmarks." Lior Refaelov's figures did fit the requirements set by Anderlecht.
