TRANSFERS According to the German website Sport 1, Schalke 04.shows interest in Timon Wellenreuther. There are even talks between the goalkeeper and the Bundesliga relegant about a possible loan. Two other European clubs would also show interest.

Schalke sees the Danish second goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow return to Frankfurt after this season and is looking for another goalkeeper to compete with Rälf Fahrmann. Wellenreuther is no stranger to Schalke. He played there from 2013 to 2017 and made his professional football debut.

Wellenreuther still has a three-year contract with Anderlecht, but is allowed to leave. In the period that he had to replace first goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge, he made too many mistakes. In the meantime he lost his place to the young Bart Verbrugge, in whom Anderlecht sees a potential successor of Van Crombrugge.
