INTERVIEWS In an interview with De Morgen, Anderlecht chairman Wouter Vandenhaute criticized Club Brugge's lack of sportsmanship. "Almost every player with whom we start negotiating in this transfer period, suddenly receives an offer from Club Brugge," he reveals.

Two weeks ago it was announced that Club Brugge had made an offer on Lukas Nmecha. And that is not an isolated case, says Vandenhaute now. "Wanting to bring someone in, just to stop competitors, I don't understand that," said Vandenhaute. "We are lucky that we bring those players in, otherwise Club will have to build an extra dressing room in their training center."

"Nmecha had already clearly indicated that he would only play for Anderlecht in Belgium. And oh well, Bruges is still making an offer to Manchester City, even without Nmecha himself or his entourage being aware of it."

For Vandenhaute, such a lack of 'sportsmanship' off the pitch is the biggest problem of football. "On the mat we have to fight each other for ninety minutes. But outside of that we have to try together to make the product and the experience of football better," says the Anderlecht president.
