INTERVIEWS Lior Refaelov has expressed himself in the French-speaking press about his transfer to Anderlecht. In Le Soir, the midfielder indicates that he mainly wants to grow the club: "I want to leave my mark everywhere I go. And at Anderlecht I want to contribute to the recovery of the club."

According to Refaelov, Anderlecht is also stronger than last season. Finally, he is also looking forward to working with talents such as Anouar Ait El Hadj, Francis Amuzu and Yari Verschaeren, whom he wants to help in their efficiency. Vincent Kompany also played an important role: "Vince thinks about football 24/7 and I'm sure I can learn from such a coach."

At the end of the interview, Refaelov returns to his period at Antwerp: "I am sure that I would have received a contract extension with Antwerp, but the real proposals did not come. That is why I went to other clubs. When Anderlecht made me an offer, Antwerp suddenly came up with a big contract, but my choice had already been made. I am disappointed that I was not allowed to play in the play-offs, a choice of the management and not of coach Vercauteren."

Newcomer Wesley Hoedt is also making himself heard in the Walloon media, via La Dernière Heure. The player indicates that he had offers from Spain, Germany, Italy and England, but that his choice for Anderlecht was one for stability. With purple and white Hoedt sees challenges that can be combined with the family aspect. In addition, Kompany, who appreciates Hoedt's playing style, and Verbeke also pushed very hard to complete the transfer.

Hoedt was also courted by Anderlecht last season, but the player did not think it was the right time to take the step. Club Brugge also made an attempt: "But I never took it seriously because at that time Bruges approached just about all the strong players in the competition."

Hoedt had to give up on his salary, but that doesn't seem to bother him: "Anderlecht has ambition and there are many good players here. I want to try to make them better. If possible, I hope to be able to force a selection for the Dutch national team in the future."
