INTERVIEWS Michel Vlap temporarily says farewell to RSC Anderlecht. The Dutchman is delighted that he can play for FC Twente for a whole season. He doesn't want to say he failed at Purple & White. He prefers to focus now on his new adventure in the the Netherlands.

Vlap already attended a match of FC Twente and he immediately felt at home. "When I saw the supporters, I really enjoyed it, I immediately felt at home. Football without supporters is not the same, so I missed that atmosphere enormously."

"I am ready to play football for a whole season again. There were other clubs that showed interest, but when I heard about Twente, my choice was immediately made."

RSC Anderlecht

Vlap joined RSC Anderlecht in the summer of 2019. They paid 8 million euros for the Dutchman. His start was good but didn't last. When Vincent Kompany became head coach, it soon became clear that there was no room for Vlap.

"I don't want to say that I failed. At big clubs, choices are made and Anderlecht is a big club. But they can never say that I didn't try, I continued to give everything on training. It is a major disappointment that I didn't succeed, but when doors close, others open."
