OTHER Former Anderlecht coach Urbain Braems has passed away at the age of 87. Braems took the title in 1974 and the Belgian Cup a year later.

Braems briefly played as a striker at Racing Mechelen and Club Brugge, but would become better known as a coach. He coached Anderlecht twice. From 1973 to 1975, he won a title and a cup. He also worked as a teacher at the time. After his passage at Anderlecht he had success as a trainer of Lokeren and Beveren. In the 1979 - 1980 season, Braems returned to Anderlecht, but the Purple & White only finished fifth, but they did qualify for the UEFA Cup. Braems was succeeded by the Croat Ivic.

Slightly younger fans will remember Braems as the coach of Jean-Marie Pfaff at Trabzonspor in Turkey. In 1992 he won the Turkish Cup with that club.
