INTERVIEWS Josh Cullen has worked his way up to an undisputed key player in the Irish national team in recent games. In an interview with talkSPORT, the midfielder says that his transfer to Anderlecht has a lot to do with that. "In the past year I have learned a lot about my personal game and about soccer in general."

It can be clear: Cullen feels good at Anderlecht. "I love it here. The past year was so much fun," he begins the interview. "It was a good year and both the team and myself are trying to build on that. I look forward to the future to build on what we started."

The presence of coach Vincent Kompany plays a big role in that. "Every day I look forward to coming to training and learning from him," says Cullen. "He's very involved. He regularly steps onto the field during training to give us individual tips. That's how he constantly makes us and the team better. Kompany is very detailed and thorough in his match planning."
