GAMES Anderlecht lost against Antwerp with 2-0. The difference between both sides was not so large, but the home side was more efficient and scored twice. With the defeat, the Mauves remain two points behind the top four but are already trailing by ten points on the first position.

The first half brought few excitement. After half an hour Nainggolan's powerful shot struck the crossbar. On the other side, Anderlecht almost scored with an own-goal, but Seck's deviation missed the post for inches.

Anderlecht started the second half with a good chance for El Hadj, but Antwerp responded with chances for Frey. When Kouamé missed a good opportunity with a header, the counter attack produced the opening goal for Antwerp scored by Yusuf. Not much later, Nainggolan hit the crossbar again.

When Harwood-Bellis stepped on Frey's foot in minute 82, the VAR intervened: penalty. Van Crombrugge saved the penalty, but Frey scored in the rebound. It was only after the 2-0 that Anderlecht finally mounted an offensive: Amuzu missed in front of an open goal and Cullen hit the crossbar. Final score: 2-0.
