GAMES Anderlecht drew 2-2 at Club Brugge. After a strong start of Purple and White, Bruges dominated and took an early lead through De Ketelaere. Anderlecht couldn't grumble at the 1-0 halftime score, but it was able to turn the situation around to a 1-2 lead after halftime through Amuzu and Hoedt. Although a draw is not undeserved, Vanaken's goal five minutes before time was rather sour. The Red Devil got too much space on a corner kick.

Anderlecht started strongly. Verschaeren got two good chances in the first ten minutes and if you want to win in Bruges, you have to score at least one of them. The first time Mignolet reacted appropriately to Verschaeren's low slide. The second time, the striker was given a lot of space, but he kicked too quickly and uncontrollably over goal.

Bruges realized that it was time to wake up and the first shot was immediately a goal. Lang served De Ketelaere who subtly grazed Van Crombrugge. After that it took the game in its hands and Purple-White could do nothing until minute 37. The free man was no longer found, the duels were lost and the players were often too far apart. Bruges still had a few chances before half time. Vanaken headed just wide and Van Crombrugge had to save an attempt by the Red Devils. Still, Anderlecht could threaten once more. Kouamé got a good shooting chance, but his shot was too weak. In the final phase, Bruges came up with two more chances. Hoedt blocked and Vanaken tried again with a placed header which was stopped by Van Crombrugge.

Kompany intervened at halftime and tried to use the speed of Raman and Amuzu. Zirkzee and Verschaeren remained in the dressing room. After five minutes Anderlecht combined well, but Murillo's cross was just defused. Bruges left Anderlecht to their own devices and seemed to be waiting for a mistake to be made by Anderlecht. But Bruges had to count on Mignolet and some luck to prevent Raman from equalizing. Just after the hour, Van Crombrugge had to intervene again after a clever cross from Rits.

Anderlecht tried to change course, but it was difficult to create chances. Out of nowhere, Amuzu brought Anderlecht to the same level via a beautifully placed shot in the far corner. Anderlecht didn't back down after the equaliser. Mignolet saved Raman's header from goal with a great save. Just after that Anderlecht climbed into the lead. A corner ended up at the feet of Hoedt who could pull the trigger twice. In the second attempt Mignolet had no defence against the hard shot.

Bruges had failed to extend the lead after the break and now had to work hard again. But Anderlecht could not enjoy the lead for long. A deviated shot by Mbamba resulted in a corner which was headed in by Vanaken. At that moment Vanaken got a lot of space from the Anderlecht defence. The score was tied again. Only two minutes of extra time were given and so the match ended at 2-2.

Anderlecht turned a deficit into a lead after half-time. Vanaken's equalizer was sour, but before halftime Purple and White could have chalked up more than 1-0. So in our opinion, a draw is not really undeserved. Anderlecht now has to continue its good run against Kortrijk for the cup and afterwards at Beerschot, where it absolutely must not lose points in the league.
