"Bakkali doesn't want to dissolve contract"

INTERVIEWS One of Peter Verbeke's missions is to bring down the wages. With that in mind, he tried to convince Zakaria Bakkali to break his contract, but in vain. "Bakkali is not open to that," Verbeke tells Het Nieuwsblad.
 


Six more months and then Anderlecht will be rid of Bakkali and his salary. Trebel, another expensive player who doesn't play anymore, is still under contract for another year. "We are open to solutions, but maybe we should sweat it out for a while," Verbeke said.

A number of guys on surplus are loaned out, but there's not always much in the way of salary gains there. "If you lend Nkaka to Waasland-Beveren, you only lose part of his wages," he said.
