Mazzu: "Playing a first half like that is forbidden"

INTERVIEWS Obviously it was not a satisfied Felice Mazzu who spoke to the press after the game against Cercle. The Anderlecht coach thought the first half was dramatic, but he doesn't want to get too carried away. The season is still long.


"We lost the game in the first half. We started badly and we finished with ten. Playing a first half like that is just forbidden for a team like Anderlecht", Mazzu said. "Whether the red card was justified? I don't know. In the second half, we created the best chances. I congratulated my players for that. Based on the work we put in, I think we deserved a point."

"We wanted to play forward, but played backwards too often due to Cercle's pressure. We also made mistakes that resulted in a yellow card. That made us fragile."
