Vertonghen: 'Supporters needed victory'

INTERVIEWS Yesterday, Jan Vertonghen scored his first goal for RSC Anderlecht and immediately the first in the Jupiler Pro League. Vertonghen is satisfied with his goal although it was not an immediate objective, the three points were.


"It was alive in Belgium, me scoring my first goal in the Jupiler Pro League. I am also satisfied that I can help the team to victory that way because you could feel from everything that the supporters were in need of a victory," Vertonghen said.

"The past few days we were asked for more aggression in our game and we did that, playing good soccer alone is not always enough."
