GAMES Anderlecht has lost its third match in the group stage of the Conference League. A fighting purple-white went down with 0-1 against West Ham. Anderlecht will travel to London next week for another match against West Ham.

After the honouring of the 1976 players and Remco Evenepoel, the match started evenly. Both teams got chances, but not too big ones. For Anderlecht, Silva kicked against Amuzu and Verschaeren found the fists of Aréola. The biggest chance was for Benrahma, but he kicked wildly over an almost empty goal. 0-0 at halftime was not illogical.

Shortly after the break, Van Crombrugge reacted good to a surprising slider from Benrahma. West Ham, also thanks to the key players who came in, increasingly took control of the game. Ten minutes before time, Hoedt stepped in wrong, leaving Scamacca free. He did not hesitate and coolly slid the ball into the far corner: 0-1.

A few minutes after the goal, Anderlecht had a great chance to equalize. Refaelov with the fine cross and Silva's header was not bad either. In the closing minutes, N'Diaye made his debut. He showed himself with some good actions, but to no avail. It remained 0-1.
