INTERVIEWS Lior Refaelov took a seat next to Robin Veldman for the press conference. He talked about the departure of Felice Mazzu, who saw his players briefly at Neerpede Monday. But also about his understanding of the supporters' discontent.

"We feel guilty and feel a lot of pain. It's our responsibility and we just weren't good enough," Refaelov began honestly, "We really need to step up a gear now, we can't put it on the coach again now. It is now time to stand up. Each should take responsibility and not start pointing at each other. We have to respect each other, no more bickering on the pitch like with Hoedt, we can't do that anymore."

"I apologised to Mazzu, we started well, but afterwards things got worse and worse. There was no stability, too little automaticity. I wish Felice all the luck for the future, he will get back on his feet."

Veldman
"He immediately has a lot of work ahead of him, we have to be there in that short time left before the World Cup. We have a new start now, for me this is also the first time. But we always wanted the best for RSC Anderlecht, we now have to embrace this new start and bring good and positive football. Now we have to start forming a tight team together with Robin, but also with the other staff members. Hopefully that turn of events will come soon."

Supporters
"It is shameful that we are so low in the league, so I certainly understand that this also hurts the fans and that there is frustration. Everyone is struggling, Anderlecht is the biggest club in Belgian football history. But from our mistakes we now have to learn, pull together and pull the team out of the deep."
