INTERVIEWS"Unacceptable." That's how the club calls the behaviour a part of the supporters yesterday during the game against Racing Genk. The Pro League, meanwhile, has announced that a consultation with all clubs will take place to deal strictly with flares and other misconduct.

Shortly before halftime of Anderlecht - Genk, the game had to be temporarily halted when a number of persons threw flares on the field. It was members of the supporters club South Leaders who were responsible for this. The club was celebrating their tenth anniversary and for this a number of things had been agreed with the club. For example, there were several tifos and the players wore a special T-shirt when entering the field.

"Banning as soon as possible"

Anderlecht spokesman Mathias Declercq spoke about the flares after the game. "It's fairly incomprehensible. Especially since we had clear agreements with this supporters' club for the celebration of their tenth anniversary. These agreements were clearly and unilaterally violated. We are very disappointed about that," he said.

"It is a phenomenon that we unfortunately see appearing at many clubs lately. This is absolutely regrettable. The club will actually take actions against this. We will also sit down with the Pro League tomorrow to eliminate these scenes from soccer as soon as possible."

"Unacceptable"

Anderlecht also made an official announcement on the club website later in the evening: ""The actions of a limited number of supporters during the match are unacceptable. Clear agreements were made beforehand in consultation with the club and police forces. These were not respected," Anderlecht now announces in an official message.

"The club joins the Pro League consultation on Monday to ban such scenes from soccer stadiums as soon as possible and will take measures. This kind of action has no place in a stadium."
