"Video message is the easy way"

INTERVIEWS Wouter Vandenhaute is taking a step back, or at least he would have said so in his video message. A video message that is not good received by supporters and analysts. All think it is the easy way, that way he should not answer critical questions. 


"Maybe this is the modern way of communicating these days, but I don't like it. A true leader sits down at the table with critical journalists and supporters. Now this is a lack of guts to answer the critical questions," said analyst Marc Degryse.

Frank Eeckhout, president of supporters' club SC41 from Herzele, also thinks so about the video message. "Non-executive chairman, who invents such a thing, either you are chairman or you are not. Behind the scenes, Vandenhaute will still firmly hold control. And that's how most supporters think."

In his video message, Vandenhaute also gave some answers to supporters' questions: "To me it mainly made an emotionless and staged impression. Now come to say that he should have tried harder to keep Vincent Kompany at the club. While everyone knows it was he who manhandled Kompany outside because he wanted more say."
