Siquet preferred Cercle

TRANSFERS Anderlecht tried to bring Hugo Siquet to Brussels this winter mercato. The defender told that yesterday after his debut at Cercle Brugge, which is renting him from Freiburg. "Given my past at Standard, it was impossible to go to Anderlecht," the 20-year-old right-back said.


Siquet was a revelation at Standard a year ago and signed for Freiburg in January 2022. It was not a success. Last season he was allowed one substitute in the Bundesliga, this season twice. So this winter he looked elsewhere on loan.
