"Of course I want him to stay"

INTERVIEWS Last transfer window, Islam Slimani, arrived at Neerpede on the last transfer day as second choice. The striker has already shown that he deserved "first choice", scoring five goals in six games. His contract runs only until the summer with an option for another season.


Slimani signed a new contract on January 31 until the summer of 2023 with an option for an additional season. At least coach Brian Riemer hopes he stays.

"Every coach would be satisfied with a striker of that caliber in his squad. Off the field he is a mentor for the young players, on the field he is a beast. Of course I want him to continue playing for RSC Anderlecht next season, although that is up to the player and the club to come to an agreement."
