New webpoll: who will replace Verschaeren?

WEBSITE Anderlecht can no longer call on Yari Verschaeren this season. In recent weeks, the 21-year-old midfielder had grown to his best level and was omnipresent. The question that arises now is who should replace him. 


In our eyes, in the current selection, three players qualify (in alphabetical order):

Kristian Arnstad: When in form, the Norwegian combines good feet with grinta and running ability. Since Verschaeren was transformed under Riemer from a sometimes somewhat anonymous number ten into an omnipresent liaison between defense and attack, it was not illogical that Riemer chose Arnstad as a replacement against OHL.

Lior Refaelov: A choice for Refaelov is a choice for refined feet. The attacking midfielder has already accounted for six goals and seven assists in all competitions combined this season. On the other hand, he still rarely plays a full game and no longer has the motor of a young colt. Refaelov will turn 37 at the end of April.

Mario Stroeykens: The 18-year-old youth product has played in all attacking positions, but perhaps that of attacking midfielder is his best. Arnstad and Refaelov seem to have an edge, but perhaps Stroeykens will be the surprise and Verschaeren's dropping out will give him the opportunity to break through completely.
