TRANSFERS The French sports newspaper L'Équipe lists Anderlecht as one of the clubs showing interest in Haissem Hassan. That's a 21-year-old Frenchman who currently plays for Villarreal B in the Spanish second division. He plays mainly as a right winger.


Hassan traded Chateauroux for Villareal in 2020, which paid 2 million euros for him at the time. With the Spaniards, he first played a season with the second team in the third division. This was followed by a loan spell with Mirandes in the second division.

This season Hassan is playing with Villareal B in the Spanish second division. He made ten starts and fifteen substitute appearances. His statistics are meager though: only one goal and no assists. Nevertheless, he made his first-team debut on February 23. He played 23 minutes against Mallorca. After that, he did not appear in action for the A-team.

In addition to Anderlecht, Lens, Bordeaux, Eibar, Alaves, Valladolid, Udinese, Brentford and Sunderland are also showing interest, according to LÉquipe. Hassan is still under contract with Villareal until mid-2024.
