Contract with clothing sponsor Joma expires this summer

OTHER There was a lot of fuss three years ago when RSC Anderlecht stopped using Adidas as clothing sponsor and went for Joma. Meanwhile, that does appear to be a success, especially since Joma stays true to the club colors with the shirts. The contract with Joma expires this summer.


Especially the "special" third shirts are usually sold out in no time. All shirts together, RSC Anderlecht sold some 22,000 shirts, a success no Belgian club sells more.

Joma has promised from the beginning to stay true to the club colors and that appears to be more than appreciated by the supporters. Moreover, the clothing sponsor is very accessible via social media and does not fail to respond to supporters' grievances. 

"We make the shirts in close consultation with the club, the first and second kit are always in purple and white," said Erwin Palmers, boss of Joma Benelux, "The shirts are also designed together with the club, that alone makes them unique and no other team in the world will play with a similar outfit."

Yari Verschaeren most popular on shirts

Many supporters choose to have their own printing on the jerseys but the player who goes over the counter the most is Yari Verschaeren. Goalkeeper jerseys are the least sought after. 

The cooperation between Anderlecht and Joma officially runs until this summer, a communication for a further cooperation has not yet taken place. But given the success of the jerseys, there is a good chance it will be extended.
