INTERVIEWS In the newspapers today, Frank Boeckx explains why he is quitting his job as goalkeeper coach at Anderlecht. "I have to be there for those who need me the most: my wife and my children," he said. "My wife even had to arrange a babysitter when she wanted to go jogging one day."

Boeckx tells how he left for Brussels at 6 a.m. every morning and didn't get home in the evening until half an hour before his children went to sleep. "On weekends I was never there and at night I never got up because I had to get out early in the morning," he says. "This was no longer tenable."

Boeckx's wife also has a full-time job, but when the nursery called because one of the children was sick, it was always she who had to drop everything because Boeckx couldn't leave Anderlecht. 'That was selfish." Until six months ago, his mother moved in a few days a week, but that's no longer possible either. Her partner has health problems.

"It feels good to choose who I love," he says of his decision. What he will do now professionally, Boeckx does not yet know. He hopes to work more often as a television analyst again.
