Arno Herssens leaves Anderlecht

TRANSFERS After twelve years, Arno Herssens is saying goodbye to Anderlecht. He announced this on his Instagram page. Hersens, who signed a professional contract in January last year, does not mention where he will now work.


Herssens is a 19-year-old central defender. Injuries have prevented him from pushing forward since signing his professional contract. This season he was on the bench once with the RSCA Futures, in October against Dender.

"Thank you for fifteen seasons of hard work, dedication, sacrifices, disappointment, happiness, glory, victory, fun, education, ...," Herssens begins his post on Instagram. "There have been ups and downs, but the little boy who arrived in 2010 became a man in purple and white." 

"I will always be grateful for what I have learned here from all the people at the club over all these years, not only as a soccer player but especially as a person. Thank you for all the experiences at international tournaments, every coach I have had, team managers, teammates, physical coaches, physios, doctors, management, ... they have all made me who I am today."
