Was Veldman already performing scouting assignment for Ajax?

OTHER Robin Veldman was present on Wednesday at the match between Fenerbahçe and Sivasspor in the Turkish Cup. According to local media, he was there to watch Ferdi Kadıoğlu and Arda Güler. Interestingly, both players have a very high market value and Güler was recently linked with Ajax.


On his own Instagram stories, Veldman posted a video about his presence at the match. It sounds from Turkey that he came to watch Ferdi Kadıoğlu and Arda Güler.

Kadıoğlu is a 23-year-old defender who was born and raised in the Netherlands and has played for Fenerbahçe since 2019. He counts nine caps for Turkey and has a market value of 15 million euros.

Güler is an 18-year-old central midfielder and a major talent. He already debuted for the national team and is very much in the interest of Ajax and Newcastle. His mart value is 11 million euros.

In short: two players who are unfeasible for Anderlecht. So the question arises: was Veldman there to scout other players? Was it a pleasure trip? Or was he actually already there with a view to a transfer to Ajax? Time will tell.
