TRANSFERS According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Anderlecht wanted Runar Rúnarsson to succeed Bart Verbruggen, but purple-white failed to find an agreement with the goalkeeper. Arsenal leased the Icelandic number one to Alanyaspor in Turkey last season.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper, son of former Lokeren player Runar Kristinsson, came to 30 league games with Alanyaspor. In the 2021-2022 season, he played on loan for OH Leuven. The 24-time international still has a contract with Arsenal until mid-2024.
