INTERVIEWS With Kasper Dolberg and Louis Patris, Anderlecht have brought in two reinforcements so far. Many supporters had hoped there would already be more, but CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg is taking his time to get who he really wants. "I could easily raise the transfer budget in one day. Easy, but that's not the intention."

Fredberg knows what he wants and takes his time to complete dossiers. That much is clear. That's why, for example, Kasper Dolberg's transfer dragged on so much. "Kasper was a top target, but there is a limit to what we can pay," Fredberg tells Het Nieuwsblad. The Sports CEO says Anderlecht were not the only club that wanted to bring in the Danish striker. "But we managed to convince him because we are creating a sporting environment in which he can develop again," he says.

"We want to get guys who fit here, who can help us immediately, but also become more attractive in the long term," said Fredberg, who is therefore going very far in identifying possible reinforcements. Anderlecht will map players data-wise. Furthermore, Fredberg will also gather information about their personalities with the help of his network. Last but not least, Fredberg will visit them personally. "That is important to immediately create a good connection with acquisitions," he says.

According to Fredberg, it is important that transfer targets know how Anderlecht sees their role. "That way there are no surprises," Fredberg said. "If you create such an honest connection, you can demand more from those guys."
