Schmeichel: "I would say the same as Hoefkens"

INTERVIEWS Not only coach Brian Riemer got a question about Carl Hoefkens' words, but also Kasper Schmeichel himself. The goalkeeper responded coolly and does not seem to have let it get to his heart. "As the opponent's coach, you have to say that to give your players confidence," he said.



"I have no problem with it. Were I a coach, I would say the same thing about any goalkeeper of the opposing team," Schmeichel told reporters after the game against Antwerp. "I'm not going to leave my sleep for what a coach says about me."

"I try to concentrate on my job as a goalkeeper. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes less so. Whether those words motivate me? I don't need anyone to motivate me."
