Vertonghen: "Sardella actually has everything"

INTERVIEWS Killian Sardella has undoubtedly been one of Anderlecht's revelations in recent weeks. For Jan Vertonghen, that is not surprising. "When I arrived at Anderlecht, I didn't know him. I saw him at training and wondered why he wasn't playing," he told the podcast MidMid.


"I wasn't there at the time when he received a lot of criticism, so I can't speak about that," Vertonghen said. "When I came to Anderlecht, I didn't know him. But I saw him at training and I thought 'he's fast, has technique, actually has everything, why doesn't he play?' Then I heard that in a game he had some bad luck at times."

"Killian is a guy in whom I've always seen a lot of potential. He's a real defender. You can also see that in the blocks he did against Antwerp: that's really enjoyable. How he throws himself in front. Now he also has that drive forward," Vertonghen said.

"Killian had a super good preparation. We had recruited Patris, but Killian won that competition. He's doing really well now."
